St. Helena’s Hospital orders UTC 400kW fuel cell
UTC Power has announced it will supply St. Helena Hospital in California’s Napa Valley with its new, next-generation fuel cell, the PureCell Model 400 system, which will be in full production in the summer of 2009.
The UTC Power fuel cell will provide St. Helena Hospital with 400 kilowatts of continuous power whilst the fuel cells waste heat will be used to supply hot water and space heating for three of the hospital’s buildings.
The hospital’s fuel cell was partially funded by a grant from the California Self Generation Incentive Program (SGIP). The California SGIP provides financial incentives for the installation of new, clean, and energy-efficient on-site distributed generation
