Air Products & Chemicals produces hydrogen and equipment for hydrogen separation and purification and is interested in developing an infrastructure of hydrogen distribution for use in fuel cells. The company has been involved in various high profile demonstration projects (Asia, Europe, USA) and is working closely with several leading companies, including BMW, ConocoPhillips, Honda, Nissan and Toyota with which it plans to build and operate some 24 new filling stations in the next 5 years. Additionally, the company supplies hydrogen to the German fuel cell powered HDW/Siemens submarine in a portable filling station. The company has also launched a mobile filling facility and just recently a small stationary hydrogen fuelling unit (“Series 100”), which can supply fuel for 1-2 vehicles per day.
