Providing low cost fuel cell systems - AFC Energy is a pioneering new company that aims to make the alkaline fuel cell technology a serious competitor in the field of small (3.5 kW) to medium (750 kW) scale stationary power supplies. The finished product will help reduce pollution and will cause minimal environmental disturbances caused by noise and fumes. AFC Energy stands out as a highly technological “green” company with the focus set on getting its technology out to the chlor-alkali and chlorate industries by providing innovative solutions at affordable prices. We currently have an opportunity for a Product Development Engineer to be heavily involved in coordinating and conducting activities relating to the development of our 50 kW fuel cell system. This project represents the next phase of development toward larger systems and as such is a pivotal role within AFC Energy with commensurate opportunities for career expansion. The successful applicant will be required to: • Work with a small team of engineers and scientists to develop the 50 kW prototype • Conduct all aspects of project management to a high standard • Maintain and build good external relationships with clients • Develop project scope documents and manage external consultants where necessary • Liaise with the Technical Director and Department Heads to ensure company milestones are delivered in a timely manner We offer a competitive salary based on applicants relevant experience.
Required Skills:
The ideal applicant should have the following qualifications and experience: • Be educated in a relevant discipline (higher degree in Chemical and Process Engineering preferred) • Background in heat exchanger design and process control • Demonstrated project management experience • Demonstrated prototype development/new plant commissioning experience • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
