We are seeking a Senior Fuel Cell Development Engineer to join our team. A well-rounded engineer or scientist is sought to join Nuvera’s Electrochemical Technology Group, focused on the design and development of advanced, high power density fuel cell stacks for automotive and industrial applications, in accord with requirements of high performance, long life, and low cost.
Essential Job Responsibilities
• Work with development teams to create material and component specifications
• Design performance and durability test fixtures and protocols
• Implement and manage component and fuel cell test campaigns
• Implement, refine, and customize diagnostic and analytical methods
• Collect and analyze data, document and present findings
• Lead and/or monitor collaborative or supplier development initiatives
• Create roadmaps and manage corresponding development projects
• Contribute to fuel cell design and system/product development initiatives- Required Skills:

Educational Background
MS/PhD (Materials Science/Engineering, Electrochemical or Chemical Engineering, Chemistry)Previous Work Experience
5 years of development experience combining experimentation and theory/analysisRequired Skills and Abilities
• Experience with PEM fuel cell design and operating principles
• Theoretical understanding of electrochemical systems and corrosion
• Facility with electrochemical materials sample preparation, characterization methods, and measurement devices
• Experience in test planning, laboratory experimentation, and data analysis
• Experience with electrochemical diagnostic methods, including polarization measurement, voltammetry, electronic impedance spectroscopy
• Project management and leadership experience
• Superior communication and teamwork skills
• Fluency in English languageDesirable Skills and Abilities
• Experience with analytical chemistry , microscopy, or mechanical characterization
• Ability to create and utilize mathematical modelsPhysical Requirements/Work Environment
Laboratory and office work environments. This position has an emphasis on experimental work and significant time in a laboratory/pilot plant setting is required.
Ability to lift components weighing up to 16 kg/35 lbs. is required.Travel Required - Up to 5% regional travel is required, with occasional opportunity for travel outside the U.S.
