Bac2 is a UK based materials company that produces bipolar plates for fuel cells.  Our unique patented conductive polymer – ElectroPhenTM allows us to optimise plate performance and reduce manufacturing steps, enabling us to deliver the most competitive plates into this burgeoning new industry.

We are seeking an experienced product development engineer to lead a programme to develop our second and third generation plates that are intended to become established market leaders.  The candidate will be able to quickly grasp the technical and commercial requirements of the product and will be expected to lead their own work programme.  The role will involve close liaison with the Company’s Materials Scientist and CTO as well as commercial and sales departments.  There will also be a modest level of customer contact.

Required Skills:

A good candidate would meet the following profile:

·         Has taken product from R&D to customer ready

·         Ability to manage a multi faceted development programme (small scale)

·         Degree qualified engineer/scientist with experience in product development

·         Ability to grasp commercial value and work with both scientific  and business development staff

·         Knowledge of fuel cells or electrochemical systems

·         Ability to be customer facing at least at a technical level

·         Good feel for practical problem solving

·         Willingness to be “hands on”

·         Self starter

·         Lateral thinker

·         Good communicator
